Diljit Dosanjh’s Global Music Collaborations

Diljit Dosanjh, a globally renowned Indian singer, actor, and producer, has consistently showcased Punjabi music globally, and to affirm this, his name has appeared in reports of him performing with Shakira in concert in India. Throughout his career, Dosanjh has collaborated with several other global celebrities from all genres of music, from pop to Latin to K-Pop singers. Many of these collaborations include Dosanjh’s Punjabi roots combined with music from around the world.

Here’s a list of the most memorable collaborations that show Dosanjh isn’t bound by borders (culturally, etc.) but can transcend them with his music.

Diljit Dosanjh and Ed Sheeran united for a historic moment in Mumbai.

One of music’s most memorable cross-cultural moments happened on tour when Ed Sheeran performed at a music festival in Mumbai in July of 2024. At this performance, Dosanjh joined Sheeran on stage, and together they performed Dosanjh’s song “Lover.” What made this performance even more special was that Sheeran sang part of the song in Punjabi, surprising and delighting all who attended, and receiving massive attention online as soon as it was completed. This performance gave immediate proof of how music can unite people from around the world.

A unique Punjabi twist with Sia

In 2023, Diljit collaborated with global pop powerhouse Sia for the track “Hass Hass.” What made the song stand out was Sia singing several verses in fluent Punjabi—an unexpected and delightful surprise for fans. Not only was this highly unexpected of Sia’s vocal delivery (from her previous style), but Diljit provides a fusion of both that creates an awesome energy that transcends language and creates an exciting fusion.

Latin Vibes with J Balvin

Diljit has once again entered into the world of Latin music with his collaboration on the remix of Señorita with Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin. The combination of original Punjabi beats with modern Latin music was an exciting experiment that demonstrated that Indian music can be just as diverse as Latin music and still maintain its native characteristics.

Dark pop energy with Jackson Wang

In mid-May 2025, Diljit worked with the up-and-coming K-Pop artist Jackson Wang (formerly of GOT7) on his groundbreaking dance-pop single, BUCK. The project has a much bolder and edgier feel than some of Diljit’s previous work, and has helped build momentum toward his goal of getting his music heard around the world. The combination of Jackson’s massive global following and Diljit’s unique Punjabi sound generated some serious excitement across multiple markets worldwide.

Punjabi rap fusion with Saweetie

Diljit teamed up with Saweetie and released the song called Khutti, which had a hip-hop sound with elements of Punjabi rhythm. This collaboration supports the idea that genre boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred in today’s music industry. The highlight of the song was both of them featuring together in it.

A powerful anthem with NLE Choppa

A significant collaboration occurred when Diljit and NLE Choppa worked together on the track Muhammad Ali, released in 2024. This song was full of resilience, empowerment, and energy from the urban-pop genre. Diljit adds his unique Punjabi vocals to provide a different sound to this genre.

Bollywood meets Global with Pitbull

Diljit worked with global icon Pitbull, also known as Mr. Worldwide, on the title track to the Bollywood movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This duet combined the Bollywood music culture with popular and worldwide influences/styles. Because of this collaboration, Diljit gained even more credibility in the global music industry.

A Bilingual Hit with Camilo

Diljit collaborated with Colombian singer Camilo on a bilingual song called Palpita, which was released in 2023. This track is made up of both Punjabi and Spanish lyrics; therefore, it creates an exciting and fresh sound through fusing various music cultures together.

Pop Collaboration with Anne-Marie

Diljit Dosanjh also worked with Anne-Marie, a British pop artist, for the song “Peaches”. The song maintained the Punjabi sound of Diljit yet had a more pop-friendly sound than previous songs he had collaborated on, so it can be enjoyed by different audiences in many parts of the world.

Diljit Dosanjh: A true global ambassador of Punjabi music

From working with Ed Sheeran to working with Latino and Korean artists, to artists in the UK and USA, Diljit Dosanjh has consistently elevated Punjabi music globally. Should he perform with Shakira at her concert in India, as rumoured, it will mark yet another historical international moment in Diljit’s career and further demonstrate that Punjabi music has indeed become global.
