Mumbai, August 21: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has commenced the online registration process for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for postgraduate dental courses for the academic year 2026-27. Eligible candidates who have qualified in the NEET-MDS 2026 examination can register online until 8 pm on August 24, 2026. The seat allotment for the first round is scheduled to be announced on September 2, 2026.

Admissions to postgraduate dental courses offered by government, government-aided, municipal and unaided private dental colleges in Maharashtra will be based strictly on candidates’ merit in NEET-MDS 2026.

Candidates who have already registered for the All India Quota will still be required to register separately with the Maharashtra CET Cell to be considered for seats under the state quota. The detailed information brochure for the admission process has been made available on the official website, and candidates have been advised to read it carefully before submitting their applications.

The CET Cell has clarified that mere registration will not confer any right to admission. Admission will be subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria and successful verification of original documents.

As per the announced schedule, candidates can pay the registration fee until 10 pm on August 24. They must upload colour scanned copies of all required original documents and submit their applications by 11:59 pm the same day. Applications will be rejected if the required documents are not submitted within the stipulated deadline.

Online document verification will be conducted until August 25, followed by publication of the list of registered candidates on August 26. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections or submit grievances regarding the list until August 27.

The final merit list will be published on August 29. Candidates can then fill in their online preferences from August 30 to September 1, until 5:30 pm.

Following the completion of the preference-filling process, the final seat allotment for the first CAP round will be announced on September 2.

The CET Cell has urged all eligible candidates to strictly adhere to the prescribed deadlines and complete the registration, fee payment, document upload and preference-filling processes within the stipulated time.
