Mumbai telecom outreach promotes licence compliance

Mumbai, May 12: The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA) Maharashtra Circle functioning under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Ministry of Communications organised a Telecom Outreach Programme (TOP) via virtual mode on May 11, 2026. The programme witnessed participation from 35 telecom licensees through video conferencing.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA) Maharashtra & Goa. Senior officials present during the programme included Joint Controller of Communication Accounts (Jt. CCA) Deputy Controller of Communication Accounts (Dy. CCA), along with members of the Revenue Team.

Speaking during the session, Dr. Satish Chandra Jha said that the objective of such outreach programmes is to create awareness among telecom licensees about the essential terms and conditions of Licence Agreements. He also stressed the importance of compliance by both existing and newly registered licensees to help strengthen the telecom sector ecosystem.

Officials from the department delivered detailed presentations on various financial and regulatory aspects related to Licence Agreements. The session covered licence fee payment procedures, assessment dues, bank guarantee provisions the SARAS platform and grievance redressal mechanisms.

The programme also featured an interactive one-to-one discussion session, allowing telecom licensees to directly raise queries and discuss operational challenges with departmental representatives.

During the event Tejas Ramakant Mahire reiterated that the Office of CCA Maharashtra is committed to assisting telecom licensees especially new entrants, while ensuring a transparent, efficient and business friendly telecom ecosystem. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Joint CCA Shashank Bhradwaj.
