Acer takes the Predator experience to two wheels with the ES Thunder Pro

The idea of an electric scooter is changing. Once associated largely with short hops across crowded city streets, e-scooters are increasingly being asked to do much more – travel farther, handle varied road conditions, offer meaningful safety technology, and fit seamlessly into the connected lives of their riders.
Acer is looking to push that evolution further with the new Predator ES Thunder Pro, its most powerful e-scooter yet. Unveiled at the next@acer global press conference in Berlin, the new model brings together performance, durability, safety, and smart connectivity in a package designed for both everyday commuting and longer, more demanding rides.
At the heart of the Predator ES Thunder Pro is a 500 W rear-wheel-drive DC motor, with peak power reaching 1,600 W and maximum torque of 32 Nm. The combination gives the scooter the ability to tackle gradients of up to 28%, while delivering stronger acceleration and smoother power delivery across different riding conditions.
That versatility is particularly important as e-scooters move beyond the role of the occasional urban runabout. With a claimed range of up to 70 kilometres on a single charge, the Thunder Pro is designed for riders who use their scooters frequently and do not want charging to become part of every journey.
Acer has also paid considerable attention to what happens when the road gets difficult. The scooter comes with a Traction Control System that continuously adjusts power delivery according to available grip, helping maintain traction and stability on wet or slippery surfaces. Its 10-inch tubeless pneumatic off-road tyres, front and rear rocker suspension with spring shocks, and dual disc brakes, with rear eABS, add further capability when surfaces become less predictable.
Weather resistance is another part of that equation. With an IPX6 rating, the Thunder Pro is built to cope with significant exposure to water, while daytime running lights and side RGB ambient lighting improve visibility and add a distinctive Predator touch after dark.
Technology extends beyond the hardware, too. The scooter connects with Acer’s eMobility app, allowing riders to monitor battery levels, vehicle status, riding data, lighting, and other settings. Electronic locking can also be managed through the app, while integrated Find My and Find Hub support gives riders another way to keep track of their scooter.
Perhaps the most interesting addition is voice control. Through a smartphone or smartwatch, users can issue AI-powered voice commands to lock or unlock the scooter, check battery levels, or control its lighting. It is a small but telling example of how connected technology is beginning to make its way into even the simplest daily journeys.
With a maximum payload of 120 kg and a regulated top speed of up to 25 km/h, depending on the market, the Predator ES Thunder Pro is clearly designed with practical, high-frequency use in mind. At 26.5 kg, it is substantial, too, reflecting its larger battery, suspension, tyres, and performance hardware.
The Predator ES Thunder Pro is scheduled to arrive in Europe in the first quarter of 2027, starting at EUR 799. Regional specifications, pricing, and availability will vary.
For Acer, the new scooter represents another step in expanding the Predator name beyond screens, processors, and gaming hardware. For riders, it points towards a future in which personal mobility is increasingly connected, capable, and intelligent – with the humble e-scooter becoming a rather more sophisticated machine than its early iterations suggested.
