Maharashtra Tourists Stranded in Nepal Due to Floods and Landslides; Mahayuti Government in Action Mode as Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan Coordinates Directly with Centre!

Shocking news has emerged that several tourists from Maharashtra are stranded in Nepal and the Tibet region following severe earthquakes, torrential rains, floods, and landslides. However, demonstrating strong commitment to the safety of its citizens, the Mahayuti government has swiftly mobilized administrative machinery to expedite rescue operations. Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan stated that the state government is maintaining constant communication with the Central authorities to safely bring back all stranded tourists, while the state’s entire disaster management apparatus remains on 24/7 high alert.

According to official administration records, data regarding approximately 80 citizens from Maharashtra who traveled to Nepal has been compiled so far. Establishing direct communication with many tourists has proven challenging due to collapsed mobile networks and disrupted telephone services in the affected regions. Despite these hurdles, authorities have successfully contacted four tourists, confirming they are completely safe. Additionally, a group of pilgrims had embarked on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via two vehicles operated by ‘Richard Tours & Travels’. Authorities confirmed that nearly 37 tourists in one of the vehicles are safe and secure. Minister Mahajan urged relatives not to panic or fall for rumors, emphasizing that rescue operations to locate and contact the remaining tourists are underway on a war footing.

With communication networks severely disrupted across Nepal, all District Collectors in Maharashtra have been strictly directed to compile details of citizens who traveled to the region from their respective districts. Citizens and relatives holding any additional information regarding stranded individuals are requested to submit it immediately to the administration.

To streamline information sharing, the Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority (Mantralaya, Mumbai) has launched a dedicated online portal accessible 24/7. Citizens can log their details and report stranded family members at https://geospatial.mahaseoc.in/Sahayata_gulf. Furthermore, the State Control Room at Mantralaya is operational round-the-clock, alongside dedicated emergency helpline numbers. The Mahayuti government remains fully committed to ensuring that every single tourist from Maharashtra is safely evacuated without harm.
