34,732-Crore Development Plan for Nashik Kumbh Mela Gets Push; CM Fadnavis Directs Timely Completion

Mumbai, August 7: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed all departments to accelerate the ₹34,732-crore development plan for the 2027 Nashik Simhastha Kumbh Mela and ensure that all projects are completed on time, with quality and transparency.

Chairing a review meeting at Sahyadri Guest House, Fadnavis said delays in Kumbh-related works would not be tolerated. He stressed stronger coordination among departments and directed officials to ensure visible progress before the next review meeting in a month.

The plan includes the Nashik Ring Road, Sadhu Gram, railway station upgrades, parking facilities and 4,500 special ST buses. Infrastructure and civic works, including land acquisition and the Ring Road, must be completed by March 2027 and made operational by April.

Under the ‘Digital Kumbh’ initiative, AI, the ‘Kumbhdut’ AI assistant, digital twins, smart parking and an integrated command and control centre will strengthen crowd and security management.

The government also plans extensive sanitation facilities, disaster-management teams, skill training for local youth and support for micro-entrepreneurs.
