Farmers Will Receive Loan Waiver Benefits: Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil

Tax-Paying Farmers Excluded; Over 6,000 Crore Distributed to 6.22 Lakh Beneficiaries So Far
Mumbai, August 10: Addressing recent reports regarding the exclusion of tax-paying farmers from the state loan waiver scheme, Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil assured that while the process might take some time, every eligible farmer across the state will undoubtedly receive the benefits. He clarified that all operational hurdles encountered during implementation are being addressed promptly, ensuring that no genuine beneficiary is left behind.
Providing an update on the progress of the loan waiver scheme, Minister Patil stated that the first and second lists of beneficiaries have already been published. As part of this initiative, funds are being systematically transferred directly into the bank accounts of thousands of eligible farmers.
So far, the state government has distributed funds amounting to 5,028 lakh effectively touching around 6,000 crore under the loan waiver program. This financial assistance has directly benefited approximately 6.22 lakh eligible farmers whose bank accounts and personal details have been updated and verified in the official system.
For farmers whose details are yet to be updated, the Minister assured that funds will be disbursed in a phased manner as soon as their records are updated in the system. The Cooperation Department is working rapidly to maintain complete transparency while ensuring that all remaining eligible farmers receive their due assistance at the earliest.
