Maharashtra Proposes ₹381 Cr for Tribal Development

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has proposed an additional allocation of over ₹381 crore for the Tribal Development Department as part of its supplementary budget proposals. The additional funding aims to strengthen welfare initiatives and improve the quality of life in tribal regions across the state.

The allocation will be used to support key programmes in education, healthcare, housing, employment generation, and infrastructure development. The government said the funds are intended to accelerate ongoing schemes, expand access to essential services, and promote inclusive growth for tribal communities.

The supplementary provision reflects the state’s continued focus on enhancing socio-economic development in tribal areas and ensuring better implementation of welfare programmes for Scheduled Tribes. The move is expected to improve living standards and create greater opportunities for sustainable development in remote and underserved regions.
