Maharashtra Allocates ₹2,961 Cr for Healthcare

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has proposed an additional ₹2,961 crore for the Public Health Department in its supplementary budget to strengthen healthcare services across the state.

The additional allocation will support a wide range of public health initiatives, including medical and healthcare services, family welfare programmes, disease prevention, and other essential health-related expenditure.

The provision is aimed at improving the delivery of healthcare, enhancing medical infrastructure, and ensuring better access to quality health services for citizens.

The supplementary funding is expected to help the department meet rising healthcare demands, support ongoing health schemes, and improve the efficiency of hospitals and public health institutions.

It also reflects the state’s continued focus on expanding healthcare facilities and strengthening the overall public health system.

The proposal forms part of the Maharashtra government’s supplementary budget, which prioritises key sectors to promote inclusive development and improve public welfare across the state.
