As part of its layoffs, Google has laid off Madhav Chinnappa, Director of News Ecosystem Development. Chinnappa had been associated with the tech giant for a commendable 13 years.

He took to LinkedIn to announce about the layoff. However, he added that he is in the “privileged position” of being able to have some time to figure out his next move. He mentioned his intention to return to India and stated that he will only consider resuming work in October.

Before joining Google, Madhav Chinnappa had an extensive tenure of nearly 10 years at BBC, where he served as the Head of Business Development and Rights for the news network.
