The Odyssey IMAX Tickets Sell for Rs 47,000

Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic film “The Odyssey” is said to be one of the most anticipated blockbusters of all time and is already creating a buzz well ahead of its worldwide release. There are already reports that the marketing campaign for “The Odyssey” has reached its height, as people are buying tickets for IMAX showings, which are quickly being sold out.

Sources say that tickets for a number of IMAX screenings were sold out just a few hours after they went on sale. The tremendous interest in “The Odyssey” has caused prices for tickets in the resale market to reach unimaginable heights of up to Rs. 47,000, as mentioned by various reports.

There is no doubt that such huge anticipation is caused by the extraordinary precision Nolan is known for delivering his films, especially in IMAX. For the uninitiated, The Odyssey is the first feature film to be shot entirely using IMAX film cameras, making the premium format a major attraction for moviegoers eager to experience the film as intended.

The film will see an impressive cast led by Matt Damon as Odysseus, alongside Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron. The film’s narrative is inspired by the famous Greek epic by Homer and follows the adventures of Odysseus, who is trying to return home after the Trojan War and faces many obstacles and mythical creatures on his journey.

Nolan’s excitement is not limited to the overseas region. In India, where ticket prices are around INR 3,000 to 3,300 for IMAX premium shows, the tickets sold out before the film was released. Many theatres faced ticket-selling issues, as even with such expensive ticket prices, movie lovers were quick to book tickets for IMAX opening shows.

According to the movie experts, there is an underlying reason behind the overwhelming advance ticket sales: it’s the trust that audiences have in Nolan because of the previous success of Oppenheimer. With such efforts of ticket-selling websites, The Odyssey is already becoming a box-office success before it hits theatres.

The movie has been planned to be released on July 17 worldwide, and this rush for tickets indicates that the movie might become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
