Cocktail 2 releases tomorrow: Here’s your complete guide to Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna’s romance drama

Fourteen years after Cocktail became a pop-culture phenomenon, the franchise is back with a fresh story, a brand-new cast and a whole new set of relationship complications. Cocktail 2 arrives in cinemas tomorrow, June 19. It has been described as an emotional rollercoaster of glamor, heartbreak and drama, based on the trailers, songs and early word-of-mouth prior to release.

Unlike the previous Cocktail movie (2012), Cocktail 2 is not a sequel, rather it is a spiritual continuation with the same themes of love, friendship and longing.

The lead roles will be played by Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna and the film is directed by Homi Adajania, who directed both of the previous movies. Arjun Rampal, Dimple Kapadia and Rohit Saraf are also said to be playing supporting roles and the film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films with music provided by Pritam.

Very little is known about the storyline, however, new characters must navigate the complexities of modern relationships, emotional issues and surprise romantic involvements. Much like the original Cocktail, friendship and heartbreak appear to be at the heart of the narrative.

One subject that has been discussed lately prior to the release is the movie’s rating. Cocktail 2 has received an A (Adults Only) certificate from the CBFC; according to some sources, there will not be visual cuts to those sexual and loving scenes when shown in theatres as reported.

If you plan to see this film in theatres, you might want to allocate additional time because Cocktail 2 is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes long, making it one of the longer Bollywood movies released this year, of course after Dhurandhar.

Filmed in picturesque places including Sicily, Delhi, and Gurugram, Cocktail 2 will deliver on visuals, music, and relationship dramas, which are what fans expect from a film from the Cocktail franchise. Whether Cocktail 2 can recapture the charm found in Cocktail is debatable; however, no one can agree that there is a lot of anticipation and interest in seeing the movie as it opens tomorrow; we will have those answers by the end of the day!
