State appoints the celebrity couple as brand ambassadors for five years

*Mumbai, April 20: Maharashtra’s State Transport (ST) Corporation is set to get a fresh, high-profile push as popular actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh have been appointed brand ambassadors for the next five years. The move aims to strengthen public outreach, promote the evolving face of the ST services, and accelerate the state’s road safety campaign.

The official announcement was made at a special ceremony held at Mantralaya following a state cabinet meeting. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Transport Minister and ST Corporation Chairman Pratap Sarnaik, along with senior officials, also attended the event.

Under this partnership, the celebrity duo will not only promote ST’s schemes and services but will also serve as the face of the Transport Department’s road safety initiative. The campaign primarily focuses on reducing road accidents and spreading awareness about safe travel practices across the state.

Officials said the selection of Riteish and Genelia was based on their widespread popularity, clean public image, and strong cultural connect with Maharashtra. Over the next five years, they will feature in advertisements, public awareness campaigns, and social messaging initiatives aimed at engaging passengers and the broader public.

The Transport Department expressed confidence that this collaboration will enhance the image of the ST Corporation and strengthen public trust. With the involvement of the well-known “power couple,” the campaign is expected to gain wider visibility and create a stronger impact among commuters.
