Byju’s names Jiny Thattil as the Chief Technology Officer, as Anil Goel departs

Struggling edtech firm BYJU’S has promoted Jiny Thattil, previously the Senior Vice President at Byju’s owned EPIC, to the position of Chief Technology Officer, taking over from Anil Goel, who is stepping away from the company. Thattil, previously serving as the Senior Vice President of Engineering, will now lead the organization’s technological endeavors during a period of

Byju’s, in a statement, said the appointment is part of its strategic efforts to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. Prior to joining Byju’s in 2020, Jiny worked as the Senior Vice President at Epic for Kids. He has also worked in the senior leadership team in companies, including Happay, Amazon, InMobi, Yodlee, and GE Healthcare.

The business restructuring has resulted in the recent resignations of several high-ranking executives, including Chief Business Officer Prathyusha Agarwal, WhiteHat Jr’s CEO Ananya Tripathi, and the head of international business, Cherian Thomas. Most recently, Chief Financial Officer Ajay Goel exited the edtech firm and Nitin Golani, President – Finance, assumed additional responsibility as India CFO.
