Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the courage, precision and determination of India’s armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor calling it a symbol of the nation’s strong resolve against terrorism.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said the armed forces had given a strong response to those responsible for attacking innocent Indians at Pahalgam. He stated that Operation Sindoor reflected India’s unwavering commitment to national security and the fight against terrorism.
Modi said the operation highlighted the professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength of the armed forces. He also noted that the mission showcased increasing coordination among the Army Navy and Air Force along with the growing strength of India’s self-reliance in the defence sector.
“A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during #OperationSindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour,” the Prime Minister said.
Reiterating India’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and its support network, Modi urged citizens to honour the armed forces by changing their display pictures on social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, to the image shared by him.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to the armed forces, describing Operation Sindoor as a landmark mission in India’s history.
In his message on X, Shah said the operation demonstrated the unmatched striking capability of India’s armed forces and reflected the combined strength of precise military action, accurate intelligence inputs and strong political leadership.
He said the operation destroyed terror bases across the border and sent a clear warning to India’s enemies that they cannot escape the reach of Indian security forces.
“Operation Sindoor stands as an epochal mission of India that will always remind our enemies of the infallible striking power of our armed forces,” Shah said.
The first anniversary of Operation Sindoor is being observed as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the armed forces and India’s continued resolve to combat terrorism.
