Britannia Industries Elevates N Venkataraman to Deputy MD, Appoints Ramamurthy Jayaraman as CFO

Britannia Industries has announced a key leadership reshuffle, elevating its current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) N Venkataraman to Deputy Managing Director and appointing Ramamurthy Jayaraman as the company’s new CFO. Both appointments will take effect from October 1, 2026.
Venkataraman, who has been with Britannia since April 2007, will step down from his role as CFO while continuing as a Whole-Time Director and Key Managerial Personnel. As Deputy Managing Director, he will oversee finance, strategy, legal, secretarial and IT functions, and work alongside CEO and Managing Director Rakshit Hargave on the company’s transformation agenda. His appointment is for the remainder of his existing term, until July 29, 2030, subject to shareholder approval.
With around four decades of professional experience, Venkataraman previously held finance leadership roles at Eicher Motors and began his career at Hindustan Aeronautics. His expanded mandate at Britannia brings together several critical corporate functions under his leadership.
Meanwhile, Ramamurthy Jayaraman has been appointed CFO and Key Managerial Personnel, moving up from his current position as Vice President – Corporate Finance. He will head Britannia’s entire finance function, including financial planning and analysis, taxation, treasury, shared services and business commercial operations.
Jayaraman has spent 15 years with Britannia across various finance roles and has more than 22 years of professional experience. A qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, he previously worked with PwC and Deloitte, where he was involved in audits of listed and unlisted companies.
The appointments represent an internal leadership transition, with Venkataraman taking on a broader corporate and strategic mandate while Jayaraman assumes responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the finance function. The changes come as Britannia continues to shape its senior leadership structure under Hargave, who took over as CEO and MD in December 2025.
