Ensure Immediate Land Allocation for Data Centre Projects: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Several leading companies from the Middle East and across the globe keen to invest in Maharashtra

Priority to be given to power supply for upcoming data centre projects

Several globally reputed companies, particularly from the Middle East, have shown strong interest in investing in Maharashtra’s data centre sector. In this context, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed authorities to ensure that land is made available to these companies immediately after agreements are finalised.

A high-level meeting and presentation on data centre development were held at the Sahyadri State Guest House. Industries Minister Dr. Uday Samant joined the meeting via video conferencing. Senior officials present included Municipal Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Abha Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Chandra, Principal Secretary Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, Industries Department Principal Secretary P. Anbalagan, CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal, and the Chief Minister’s Advisor on Investment and Policy, Kaustubh Dhawse.

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that many leading global companies are keen to invest in Maharashtra’s data centre sector. He emphasized that all critical processes related to project development particularly land allocation must be completed within defined timelines. He also instructed that adequate power supply be ensured on a priority basis for these projects. Concerned departments have been directed to expedite all necessary actions without delay.

He further directed CIDCO to develop a dedicated land bank for data centre projects, while the Energy Department has been instructed to promptly allocate land for substations required to support these facilities.

Infrastructure Readiness for Data Centres

CIDCO informed that essential infrastructure for data centre projects is being made available. The Energy Department also confirmed that sufficient power capacity is being planned and ensured to meet the requirements of companies in this sector.
