Grand Memorial for Late Ajitdada Pawar to Be Built at Pelican Park in Nashik: Minister Chhagan Bhujbal

Nashik, July 22: Maharashtra Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Chhagan Bhujbal announced that a grand memorial dedicated to former Deputy Chief Minister Late Ajitdada Pawar will be constructed at Pelican Park in Nashik to preserve his legacy of development-oriented governance and inspire future generations.

The announcement was made during a programme organised to mark the birth anniversary of Late Ajitdada Pawar and the birthday of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On the occasion, Bhujbal distributed assistive devices to persons with disabilities, umbrellas to senior citizens, and inaugurated a blood donation camp.

Speaking at the event, Bhujbal said Ajitdada Pawar had made significant contributions to the development of both urban and rural Maharashtra with a people-centric vision. He noted that Pawar’s leadership, commitment to public welfare, and developmental approach had left a lasting impact on society. The proposed memorial, he said, would serve as a lasting tribute to his work and inspire future generations. Bhujbal also emphasised that extending support to the underprivileged through welfare initiatives would be the true tribute to the late leader.

Nashik Police Commissioner Dr. Sandeep Karnik recalled working with Late Ajitdada Pawar during the early years of his career. He praised Pawar’s discipline, dedication, tireless work ethic, and unwavering commitment to public service, describing his leadership as a source of inspiration.

Later, Bhujbal participated in a tree plantation drive on Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Road, launched to commemorate the same occasion. The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), Nashik, also inaugurated a campaign to plant 10,000 trees. Bhujbal appealed to citizens to actively participate in tree plantation and conservation efforts to help build a greener and more sustainable Nashik.
