Reviews functioning of Mumbai Suburban Collectorate

Mumbai, May 15: The Revenue Department is expected to function in a people centric manner. In this regard government positions should be utilised for public welfare by presenting an innovative model of speedy and transparent governance instructed Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
During a meeting held at the Mumbai Suburban Collectorate Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule conducted a comprehensive review of the district administration’s functioning Skill Development Minister and co guardian minister of Mumbai Suburban district Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MLC Vikrant Patil, Mumbai Suburban District Collector Saurabh Katiyar and officials from various departments were present on the occasion.
Bawankule said that the Revenue Department is directly connected to the day to day needs of citizens. Through this department, citizens’ properties are protected. To resolve public grievances the local administration should undertake advance planning and proactively visit different areas to carry out its work.
Essential services related to ease of doing business should be provided promptly and cases received by the department should also be disposed of expeditiously. He also said that local issues should be resolved at the local level itself which would help reduce the number of complaints reaching the government.
He further said that innovative and efficient work in administration would be appreciated. He also said that the government is resolving all issues concerning the district administration. If there is any violation of the terms and conditions related to government land for any reason action should be taken and the land should be reclaimed by the government, the Revenue Minister also directed.
In this meeting District Collector Saurabh Katiyar made a presentation on various initiatives being undertaken under the Collectorate. The Revenue Minister also reviewed the work of departments including the Registration Department, District Superintendent of Land Records and Stamp Collectorate in the meeting. Shri Bawankule also directed officials to complete all pending works within stipulated timelines.
