Regulatory environment is becoming more and intrusive to the working of Industry. The modern industrialisation has to pay the price for Environment degradation, Health and hygiene deterioration, Safety at workplace, work life balance  etc. Over a period of time the layers tween company CEO and shop floor workers have increased and production have become trans-national.

In this scenario strict regulation with suitable penalty is required so that there is responsible growth of industry and not only the profit motive. Even UN guidelines have given 17 sustainable Development Goals to follow.

Viewing regulations not as obstacles but as signals of where the industry must evolve is the need of the hour. Early adoption of environmental, safety, and quality standards builds long-term resilience and trust with stakeholders.

Constructive dialogue with policymakers, industry bodies, and peers helps shape practical regulations while ensuring that the industry’s voice is heard. Being part of the solution rather than reacting defensively is critical.

Clear processes, ethical practices, and strong documentation not only ensure compliance but also enhance organisational discipline. This becomes especially important in areas like sustainability, waste management, and extended producer responsibility.

Regulations will continue to evolve, particularly around plastics and sustainability. Leaders must prepare their organisations ahead of the curve, investing in technology, skill development, and circular economy initiatives. I firmly believe that regulations are for  the betterment of industry preserving environment and safe working conditions and must be adhered to.
