Evera Cabs Takes Charge as BluSmart Stalls, Acquires 500 EVs

India’s electric mobility landscape is undergoing a tectonic shift—and at the center of this transformation is Evera Cabs, a Prakriti Mobility initiative. With the acquisition of 500 electric vehicles from the now-suspended BluSmart fleet, Evera is moving rapidly with an eye to making inroads into the airport transportation segment.

BluSmart, once a key player in India’s electric cab ecosystem, suspended operations across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru after regulatory action by SEBI against its co-founders and parent entity Gensol Engineering. The vacuum left behind created a rare opportunity—and Evera has moved swiftly to fill it. Having already repossessed 220 of BluSmart’s electric cabs through its lenders, Evera is on track to reclaim the remaining 280 vehicles in the coming days. The larger vision? To bring 1,000 BluSmart vehicles into its fleet.

But this is more than a takeover of hardware. It’s a strategic recalibration of market dynamics. By absorbing not just vehicles but also experienced EV drivers, Evera aims to ensure zero service disruptions and smooth continuity for commuters in a post-BluSmart scenario. With a proven five-year track record in the B2B segment, the company is now shifting gears to dominate the B2C landscape, with a clear emphasis on airport-centric operations.

“Our goal is not just scale—it’s strategic dominance,” said Nimish Trivedi, Co-Founder and CEO of Evera. “What we’re executing is not merely an expansion, but a realignment of India’s electric mobility narrative. As the ecosystem evolves, Evera is stepping forward with clear intent, absorbing proven assets and trusted drivers to build a resilient, future-ready network.”

At the heart of this strategy is Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Already operating from the hub, Evera now aims to extend its services across all terminals, positioning itself as the go-to electric cab service for airport travelers. With zero cancellations, no surge pricing, and a 100% electric fleet, Evera offers a premium-yet-accessible solution that aligns with both customer convenience and environmental imperatives.

The repossession of BluSmart’s fleet marks Phase 1 of Evera’s multi-stage strategy to consolidate its presence in NCR’s high-demand corridors. Phase 2 will involve extensive service deployment across Delhi Airport and adjoining regions, backed by enhanced technological infrastructure and fleet management systems.

In a sector where consumer trust hinges on reliability and consistency, Evera’s proactive approach is designed to deliver uninterrupted service—while also setting a new benchmark in clean urban transport. “Our commitment is to ensure zero disruption for commuters and to elevate their experience through seamless service, operational depth, and an uncompromising focus on sustainability,” Trivedi added.

As India charts its roadmap to net-zero, transport solutions like Evera are turning disruption into opportunity, moving quickly to fill the void left by a major market player that seems to have fallen by the wayside.
