Tahir Toloy Tanridagli Named MD and CEO of Kwality Wall's India

The Unilever and Magnum Ice Cream Company veteran takes charge of the newly listed pure-play ice cream business, effective November 1, 2026, subject to approvals.

Kwality Wall’s (India) Limited has appointed Tahir Toloy Tanridagli as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Exchange4Media reported. The appointment is effective November 1, 2026, subject to shareholder and other applicable approvals.

Tanridagli is already on the company’s board and has been closely involved in its transformation since the ice cream business was demerged from Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). As MD and CEO, he will oversee operations and business development, with a focus on operational performance and the company’s growth strategy.

Two decades in global FMCG

Tanridagli has more than 20 years of experience in fast-moving consumer goods and snacking, with leadership roles at Kraft Foods–Mondelez and Unilever across several categories and markets.

Most recently he was General Manager, Unilever Ice Cream, overseeing operations across the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and Russia. In 12 years at Unilever, he also served as Vice President – Marketing for the Foods and Refreshment category across the Middle East, Africa and Russia. His portfolio spans food, desserts, beverages, salted snacks, chocolate and ice cream, which gives him a mix of commercial, marketing and regional leadership experience.

A regional role alongside the India job

Tanridagli will continue as President of the METSA region, which covers the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, Israel and South Asia. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team at The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC). His day-to-day responsibility as MD and CEO will be the Indian business, while his regional position lets him contribute to the wider group’s priorities.

A new growth phase

The appointment comes as Kwality Wall’s India settles into life as an independently listed company following the demerger from HUL. As India’s largest listed pure-play ice cream business, it now has a distinct platform for operations and expansion. Tanridagli’s mix of international FMCG experience and knowledge of the company’s transformation points to leadership continuity, and execution will matter as the business builds its capabilities as a stand-alone entity.
