Spanish Priest Busted in Viagra Trafficking Scandal

Police have uncovered a racket within a Spanish church, resulting in the arrest of a lead priest, Father Alfonso Raúl Masa Soto, and his boyfriend on Monday. They stand accused of operating a Viagra trafficking operation from their home, located just a few blocks from the church. Additionally, they are suspected of trading other aphrodisiacs, although the specifics of these drugs remain unclear at present. The police raided their residence shortly after Father Soto conducted a funeral at the San Sebastián church in the Don Benito locality.

In response to the accusations, Soto’s lawyer emphasised a lack of incriminating evidence and asserted Soto’s innocence, stating that he had no knowledge of any illicit activities.

The arrest has sent shockwaves through the community, where Soto was respected as a beloved figure known for his impeccable and spiritually grounded speech.

The priest’s relationship with his partner was an open secret in town, with neighbours recalling how his partner would discreetly enter their home but warmly greet those nearby.

After a court appearance on Tuesday, Soto was released from jail, while his alleged partner remained in provisional prison without bail.

Viagra, a known stimulant, is available publicly in controlled quantities, with prescriptions required to procure it over the counter in some countries.
