Over 400 Youth Participate in Fit India Initiative
The 69th edition of ‘Sundays on Cycle’ was successfully held at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Regional Centre Mumbai, in collaboration with MY Bharat under the Fit India Movement. The initiative aimed to promote fitness and an active lifestyle among youth and citizens.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 400 youth leaders, students, and volunteers, who came together to spread awareness about healthy living through community cycling. The rally covered a distance of around 5 kilometers, passing through key locations such as Vinayak Seth Chowk, Kharghar Football Stadium, and Sector 27, engaging the local community in the fitness drive.
MLA Panvel, Prashant Thakur, attended the event as the Chief Guest and flagged off the rally from B.D. Somani International School. Addressing the participants, he praised the enthusiasm of the youth and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building a healthier nation.
“It is inspiring to see such active participation from young people. Initiatives like ‘Sundays on Cycle’ not only encourage fitness but also promote awareness about leading a healthy lifestyle. Youth-driven movements are crucial for shaping a stronger India,” he said.
The event also included group cycling sessions, youth engagement activities, and participant interactions, reinforcing the vision of “Fit Yuva – Fit Bharat – Fit Nation.”
The successful of the program further strengthened the impact of the Fit India Movement and encouraged citizens to adopt cycling as a regular part of their daily routine.
