Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt and more lead Prime Video’s biggest slate yet

Prime Video is going all in on India, and it’s doing it in style.

At its grand Prime Video Presents showcase in Mumbai, the streaming giant unveiled its biggest-ever Indian Originals slate with 55 series and films made in multiple languages. These projects produced this year have a lot of different genres included, including high-scale drama, non-scripted formats, and superhero storytelling, and are a great way for Prime Video to capture a large audience within its ecosystem, including in theatres and at home.

A lineup packed with big names and fresh stories

Examples of key titles include The Revolutionaries, a period drama created by Nikkhil Advani featuring Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, and Gurfateh Pirzada, and other new titles like Matka King with Vijay Varma, Raakh with Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, and Aamir Bashir, and Lukkhe, which marks rapper KING’s acting debut. One of the titles that will add a special flair to the presented project is Vansh – The Kalyug Warriors: (India’s first original Hindi superhero series created exclusively for streaming).

Fan-favourite shows make a comeback

When we look at Prime Video’s future, we see multiple hit shows making a return in 2026. Some of these include Farzi Season 2, Panchayat Season 5, Call Me Bae Season 2, Dupahiya Season 2, Dahaad Season 2, and The Traitors Season 2; all of these series have previously been successful with an audience base that loves established franchises.

Stronger regional push than ever before

Along with a number of successful established shows, Prime Video is launching many new regional storytelling projects. The Telugu version of The Traitors, hosted by Teja Sajja, is an exciting way to create a new niche in the unscripted television world, while other shows such as Guvvala Cheruvu Ghat and Tamil drama Exam continue to tell stories from a local perspective. Returning shows to regional frames, such as Vadhandhi Season 2 and Inspector Rishi Season 2, will help solidify this larger regional direction and also demonstrate that great storytelling can overcome language.

New collaborations, new creative energy

One of the most notable parts of this announcement is Prime Video’s new partnerships for creativity. Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films is stepping into streaming with the series Storm and film Mess, and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions will produce the Don’t Be Shy movie.

In addition to these collaborations, a variety of top producers such as Dharmatic Productions, Excel Entertainment, Tiger Baby Films, Emmay Entertainment, Abundantia Entertainment, The Viral Fever, Wallwatcher Films, and D2R Films are all currently working together with Prime Video to create a wide-ranging library consisting of both established and newer talents.

A big step into theatrical releases

Amazon MGM Studios is making significant strides towards bringing films to theatres in India as they develop their own theatre distribution strategy. Some of the films scheduled for release in theatres include Raftaar (a movie starring Rajkummar Rao & Keerthy Suresh), VIBE (the feature film debut of actor Kunal Kemmu), Dilkashi (an A.R. Rahman-produced love story), Nayyi Navelli (featuring Yami Gautam), and Kuku Ki Kundli (featuring Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi).

This move represents a more comprehensive merger between streaming services and motion pictures, with films set to eventually land on Prime Video after their theatrical runs.

The announcement also illustrates the growing role that India plays within Prime Video’s overall strategy as it pertains to international expansion opportunities. India was one of the top three territories worldwide for attracting new members to the service in 2025; a significant number of those newly acquired members are currently engaged users of the service.

The fact that almost 2/3rds of viewers in India now watch content in more than 4 languages shows how rapidly people are moving toward consuming many different types of languages and cultures by watching content across multiple mediums. Additionally, many of the world’s most-watched non-English TV shows on Prime Video are coming from India – of the top 50 most-watched non-English shows on Prime Video last year, over half came from India.

A new era for streaming in India

Prime Video has put together its largest amount of high-quality content to date and has demonstrated that they want to continue with high-quality stories by producing everything from original series with a unique high-concept premise, to new seasons of very popular series that people are excited about, to regionally based movies.

And if this lineup is anything to go by, 2026 might just be its most exciting year yet.
