Maharashtra ATS Arrests Dockyard Employee for Leaking Sensitive Information to Pakistani Operatives

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended a 31-year-old structural fabricator from Mazgaon Dockyard for allegedly divulging sensitive information about restricted areas to Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIO) who had ensnared him. ATS has filed a case under the Official Secrets Act against Kalpesh Baikar and others in his network.

Sources reveal that Kalpesh had been engaging in conversations with a woman on social media for several months, eventually complying with her demands. Allegations suggest that Kalpesh, employed in a location critical to national security, shared vital information with his social media acquaintance, who is accused, in exchange for monetary benefits.

ATS sources allege that the accused, Kalpesh, conversing with the woman, was acting as an agent of the PIO, attempting to extract sensitive information from her by using a honey trap.

Similar Case Reported Earlier in December 2023

This incident is not an isolated one. In December 2023, the Maharashtra ATS detained a 23-year-old, Gaurav Patil, employed at Mazgaon Dockyard in Mumbai, for allegedly disclosing confidential information to an agent of a Pakistani-based Intelligence Operative (PIO).
