MSRTC Extends 10% Fare Hike by One Month

Mumbai, June 15, 2026: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has decided to extend the existing 10% seasonal fare hike on its ordinary bus services for another month in view of rising fuel prices and the increasing financial burden on the corporation.

Accordingly, the revised fares will continue to remain in force until midnight on July 15, 2026.

The seasonal fare increase was originally introduced on April 15, 2026, to manage the heavy summer travel demand and improve revenue generation. The fare revision was scheduled to end on June 15, 2026. However, considering the continued rise in fuel costs and the additional expenditure arising from the increase in employees’ Dearness Allowance (DA), MSRTC has approved an extension of the fare hike.

Under the extended fare structure, the fare for ordinary and midi bus services will continue at ₹11.05 per stage. The minimum fare will remain unchanged at ₹14 for adults and ₹7 for children.

MSRTC has directed all Divisional Controllers, Regional Managers, and other concerned officials to ensure the immediate implementation of the decision across the state.

The extension is aimed at helping the corporation offset rising operational costs while continuing to provide reliable public transport services to passengers throughout Maharashtra.
