The new chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is Anil Kumar Lahoti, former Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board. His appointment comes after the retirement of PD Vaghela on September 30. Anil Kumar Lahoti will serve as the TRAI chief for a three-year term from the date he assumes charge or until he reaches the age of 65.
Anil Kumar Lahoti brings with him a distinguished 36-year career in the railways, having held various roles across Central, Northern, North Central, Western, and West Central Railways, as well as in the Railway Board.
