Blood, betrayal and redemption: Emraan Hashmi is back in Awarapan 2

Nineteen years after Awarapan gained a devoted following, Awarapan 2 sees the return of Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit. And as the new full trailer makes it clear, it won’t just be relying on nostalgia to promote the sequel. It instead focuses on the implications that Awarapan had about violence, pain, and redemption, while also hinting that the upcoming film will be exploring even darker memories of Shivam.
Awarapan 2 trailer review
At the beginning of the trailer, Shivam is depicted as a haunted man whose life has been impacted by the past actions. Emraan Hashmi proves that in a moment, slipping smoothly and easily back to the character and displaying the same intensity as he used to do. The character wants to tell us about his experiences, pain, guilt, and relentless desire for vengeance through his eyes, without saying a word.
The visual side of the sequel looks more ambitious than the original. Director Nitin Kakkar has finally delivered a movie full of fighting scenes, explosions, and bloody fights, thus ensuring that the sequel will be of higher quality.
One of the primary advantages of the trailer is its atmosphere. The colours used in it, which are mostly darker, align well with its themes of revenge and redemption. The tone of the trailer sets up a feeling of doom throughout, increasing the emotional weight of the movie in comparison to simple movies in the action genre.
The cast is also impressive, but only has little time on the screen. For example, Disha Patani seems to be given more than just the role of a love interest, and glimpses of Shabana Azmi in the trailer point at her being a brilliant villain. The trailer does not open up about their characters too much which adds mystery to the cast of characters.
Another drawback of the trailer is that it does not provide information about what the movie is about at all. Apart from the topic of revenge, struggles, and unfinished business, there is not much revealed. The lack of information on the actual plot can disappoint some viewers, but it also adds intrigue to the trailer.
The music of the trailer deserves special attention as well. While there are no songs in the trailer, the piece of music used perfectly in the emotional weight of the visuals and builds anticipation for what fans hope will be another memorable Vishesh Films soundtrack.
In nutshell, Awarapan 2 is just what viewers anticipated from Emraan Hashmi’s return, lots of action and an emotionally gone protagonist struggling with his dark past. While the trailer give very little away regarding the movie’s plot, they definitely pique the audience’s interest. If the film achieves a good balance between its storytelling and its action sequences, Awarapan 2 can become an outstanding sequel in the history of Bollywood cinema.
