Here’s every movie you must watch in April 2026

Theatres will be filled with life on a weekly basis throughout April 2026, thanks to the array of theatrical releases competing against IPL fever. Instead of one massive blockbuster, what we get is a steady stream of films across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and more, each bringing something different to the table.

Here’s a look at the theatrical releases this month:

Awarapan 2 (April 3, 2026)

Awarapan 2 will release on April 3, 2026, and provide a nostalgic moment as the film features Emraan Hashmi in the same role, continuing the successful storyline from part one, with an emotionally intense storyline for a modern-day audience.

Bhooth Bangla (April 10, 2026)

Bhooth Bangla, featuring Akshay Kumar, will be one of the biggest commercial releases in April. It is a comedy/horror film with a Priyadarshan-style humour combined with fear. Its ensemble cast helps bring the family to the theatre for a great laugh and some nostalgic memories.

Dacoit: A Love Story (April 10, 2026)

Also being released on April 10, 2026, is Dacoit: A Love Story. Starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, it is an action drama about revenge, betrayal, and deep emotional experiences, making it one of the most intriguing releases during the month of April.

Maatrubhumi (April 17, 2026)

Mid-month will see the release of a film with a patriotic theme, Maatrubhumi. The film stars Salman Khan and is a war drama based on a true story, which incorporates high intensity as well as spectacular visual effects.

The Great Punjab Robbery (April 17, 2026)

The Great Punjab Robbery, starring Raj Kundra, Payal Rajput, and Garvita, is directed by Saurabh Varma. It is a Punjabi film based on the real-life story of one of the largest bank robberies in Indian history.

Patriot (April 23, 2026)

Patriot, one of the most awaited Malayalam film releases of 2026, is set to hit the big screen on April 23. This film stars two of the biggest legends in Indian cinema, Mammootty and Mohanlal, and is an epic-sized spy thriller film with lots of political intrigue mixed in.

Ginny Weds Sunny 2 (April 24, 2026)

Starring Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankar, Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is a sequel to 2020’s Ginny Weds Sunny. The film will bring a fresh on-screen pairing with a new story set in Uttarakhand, focusing on family drama and humour along with modern romance.

Peddi (April 30, 2026)

April 30 marks the end of the month with an exciting sports-action film, Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, which was filmed for mass appeal. It follows the story of a villager who unites his community through sports to protect their pride.

The month of April 2026 has a unique rhythm and flow with one fresh new film release each week from different industries and genres. Regardless of whether you are in the mood for the horror-comedy genre or looking for patriotic dramas, this month ensures the theatre experience never feels repetitive, just constantly exciting.
