3F Oil Palm commits to empowering farmers, boosting agro-economic growth in Andhra Pradesh through Rs. 550 cr investment in Oil Palm Plantation development and Processing

• 3F Oil Palm signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh CM Shri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy
• First company to commence operations in the state; impacted more than 50,000 farming families

Hyderabad, October 5^th, 2023: 3F Oil Palm, one of India’s leading oil palm companies, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh (AP) for the sustainable development of farmers in the state with a significant investment of INR 550 Crores in Oil Palm cultivation. The MoU was signed by the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Sanjay Goenka, Managing Director and CEO, 3F Oil Palm.

This landmark investment reaffirms 3F Oil Palm’s commitment to fostering economic growth, empowering local communities, and promoting environmentally responsible agricultural practices in the Oil Palm industry.

During the MoU signing, Sri Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Hon’ble State Agriculture Minister, and Sri Gudivada Amarnath, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Infrastructure, Investment, and Information Technology, were also present.

3F Oil Palm was the first company to commence operations in the state, and has since developed more than 25,000 hectares of plantations, bringing together more than 50,000 farming families. 

The strategic partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the development of the region as it will help empower existing Oil Palm farmers as well bring in new prospective farmers into the fold of Oil Palm cultivation. 3F Oil Palm will invest in nursery activities, area expansion, crop maintenance, farmer services, fresh fruit bunches (FFB) collection and handling, R&D facilities, and a green field integrated palm oil processing complex in Ayyavaram village, Nallajerla Mandal, East Godavari.

Due to 3F Oil Palm’s continued investment in the Oil Palm plantation space, the company has been allotted an additional 24 zones in the five districts of Tirupati, Chittoor, Guntur, Nandyal and Krishna with a potential area of over 1,00,000 Ha.

3F Oil Palm currently operates in the states of Karnataka, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh, other than Andhra Pradesh, with a cultivation area spread over more than 55,000 hectares and five processing units.

• Investments in Nursery Activities
  • 3F Oil Palm already has 2 operational nurseries in the state and is on track to set up 3 more during FY 2023-2024
  • The 5 state of the art nurseries will cater to 15L saplings per year and will be enough to cover 10,000 Ha of Area under oil palm per year
  • The company will be investing INR 40 Cr per annum towards nursery activities for the next 5 years. This will total to an investment of INR 200 Cr over the next 5 years.
• Investment in Area Expansion and Crop Maintenance
  • 3F Oil Palm already has a workforce of 100 trained and experienced agriculture graduates specifically for the purpose of farmer training and crop maintenance

• Investment in FFB Collection and Handling Infrastructure
  • 3F Oil Palm already has a network of 30 state of the art collection centres across the state catering to the needs of the farmers.
  • 25 more collection centres will be added at an investment of INR 2 Cr per Collection Centre
  • The company will be investing INR 50 Cr towards FFB Collection and Handling activities over the next 5 years.
• Investment in Farmer Services
  • 3F Oil Palm already has 8 3F Akshaya Kendra’s (Agriculture services centres) across the state. These centres serve as a one stop shop to the farmer, catering to their every need: Micronutrients, fertilizers, irrigation equipment, tractor equipment, credit facilities, labour services, harvesting services, etc.
  • 12 more of such 3F Akshaya Kendra’s will be added in the state of Andhra Pradesh over the next 5 years
  • The company will be investing INR 25 Cr towards these activities over the next 5 years
• Investment in Greenfield Integrated Oil Palm Processing Complex
  • 3F Oil Palm is setting up a green field integrated Palm oil processing complex in Ayyavaram village, Nallajerla Mandal, East Godavari. The company has already acquired 75 Ac of land on Dwaraka Tirumala Road for the project. The project will consist of the following
    • 60 MT/H Palm Oil Processing Unit.
    • 200 TPD Solvent Extraction Unit.
    • 400 TPD Palm Oil Refinery.
    • 6 MW Power Project.
    • Zero liquid discharge Effluent Treatment Plant.
    • DOC Unit for Animal Feed.
    • Ancillary Structures and buildings.
  • The company will be investing INR 250 Cr towards the new Greenfield Integrated Oil Palm Processing Complex
  • This facility alone will generate and opportunity for 500 direct and 1000 indirect employment.
