A hilarious incident took place in Noida, when a Uber customer named Deepak Tenguriya was left shocked after receiving a Rs.7.66 crore bill for a regular Uber auto ride.
While the initial fare displayed on the app was Rs. 62, the fare later skyrocketed. This astonishing billing error left not just the commuter, but Uber bewildered too.
When an X (formerly known as Twitter) user named Ashish posted the video of the bill and the amusing conversation between the two folks about this unpredicted bill, the video went viral. Uber acknowledged this issue in the form of comments on social media, stating a promising investigation. They later expressed their regret for such an inconvenience and mentioned they will update Deepak as soon as they resolve it.
The video displayed the amount bifurcation of Rs. 7.66 crore bill, showing the trip fare as Rs. 1,67,74,647 and waiting time charges of Rs. 5,99,09189. There was a saving grace though in the form of a Rs. 75 promotional coupon applied, and no GST charge added.
Social media users had a field day when the video got posted, with some asking if this exorbitant bill is because he just returned from a Chandrayan mission. Be that as it may, the shock Deepak received when he saw this bill must have been out of this world, and we hope Uber fixes this billing issue at the earliest.
