OpenAI announces GPT-4, a smarter and faster successor to ChatGPT

The chatter has barely died down around ChatGPT, but OpenAI isn’t sitting on their laurels, and are ready to roll out the next big thing. Their latest release, GPT-4, is the most powerful and sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) model ever, and is capable of passing the bar exam, resolving puzzles, and even providing you with a recipe to use up leftovers based on a picture of your refrigerator. However, its developers warn that it is also capable of disseminating false information, espousing dangerous ideologies, and even tricking people into performing tasks on its behalf. What is GPT-4?

The GPT-4 is an AI-powered chatbot that offers responses in text format. Remarkably, it is very skilled at writing in a format that is almost equivalent to being exceptionally adept at comprehending and analysing the outside world. It can process text and image inputs shared by users before offering a response of its own.

For example, if you give the GPT-4 a question from the US bar exam, it will write an essay demonstrating legal knowledge; if you give it a medicinal molecule and ask for variations, it will appear to apply biochemical expertise; and if you ask it to tell you a joke about a fish, it will appear to have a sense of humor—or at least a good memory for corny jokes!

Is it the same as ChatGPT?
