Trump's 2024 Cabinet Choices: Security, Border Control, and Immigration in Focus

Following his recent presidential victory, Donald Trump has started appointing key figures to his upcoming administration. Emphasizing loyalty and dedication to the MAGA agenda, Trump is selecting advisors and allies who actively supported his 2024 campaign. While there has been speculation regarding Elon Musk’s involvement, the President-elect has not included Musk in any official role.

Here’s a look at Trump’s picks so far for major positions overseeing national security, foreign policy, immigration, and energy:

National Security Adviser: Mike Waltz
Congressman and former Army Green Beret Mike Waltz will serve as Trump’s National Security Adviser. Known as a leading voice against Chinese influence, Waltz has sponsored bills to reduce U.S. reliance on Chinese critical minerals. A supporter of U.S.-India ties and an experienced Pentagon adviser, Waltz will tackle pressing security concerns such as military support for Ukraine, North Korea’s alliance with Russia, and escalating tensions in the Middle East.

UN Ambassador: Elise Stefanik
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has been named Ambassador to the United Nations. A longtime Trump ally, Stefanik rose to prominence after replacing Liz Cheney in House leadership. At the UN, she’ll work on Trump’s pledges to end conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, while addressing escalating tensions in Gaza and Lebanon.

White House Chief of Staff: Susie Wiles
Trump’s first appointee, Susie Wiles, who managed his 2024 campaign, will be his White House Chief of Staff. Known for her influence in Florida politics, Wiles helped Ron DeSantis in his initial gubernatorial win and later supported Trump in his primary race against DeSantis.

‘Border Czar’: Tom Homan
To oversee immigration, Trump appointed Tom Homan as his ‘Border Czar.’ Formerly head of ICE under Trump, Homan will lead an extensive deportation plan, focusing on individuals deemed threats to safety and those working without authorization.

Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy: Stephen Miller
A key architect of Trump’s immigration policies in his first term, Stephen Miller has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy. Known for his strict immigration stance, Miller will continue shaping policies on immigration and national security.

EPA Administrator: Lee Zeldin
Former Congressman Lee Zeldin has been chosen to head the Environmental Protection Agency. While Zeldin lacks direct environmental experience, he is a firm Trump supporter. Under his leadership, Trump aims to boost U.S. oil and gas production by easing regulations and expediting permits.
