The devastating terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam has left the entire nation in mourning—and some of India’s biggest stars are voicing their grief, outrage, and solidarity with the victims. On Tuesday afternoon, terrorists opened fire on tourists at Baisaran meadow, often referred to as “Mini Switzerland,” killing at least 26 people and injuring 20 others in one of the worst civilian-targeted attacks in recent years.

As the country reels from the brutality, leading figures from Bollywood and the South Indian film industries have spoken out, calling for justice and condemning the violence in the strongest possible terms.

Bollywood Reacts: “This Can’t Be Forgiven”

Anushka Sharma called the attack “cold-blooded” in a somber post to Instagram Stories, writing, “Heartbroken to hear about the cold-blooded terror attack on innocent people in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Heartfelt prayers and condolences to their families. This is a heinous attack that will never be forgotten.”

Kareena Kapoor echoed similar sentiments, posting, “Beyond heartbroken for the victims and their families. Praying for the lives lost. #Pahalgam.”

Actor Akshay Kumar wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families.”

Sidharth Malhotra condemned the violence as a “cowardly act” and expressed faith in India’s armed forces to deliver justice. Janhvi Kapoor, visibly shaken by the incident, called the terrorists “soullessly conditioned monsters” and said she feared “nothing will be enough to quell this seething anger caused by such repeated acts of terror and evil.”

Other stars, including Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, Raveena Tandon, Sonu Sood, Hina Khan, Farhan Akhtar, and Anupam Kher, expressed sorrow, anger, and solidarity. Anupam Kher, known for his film The Kashmir Files, posted a powerful video lamenting the repeated targeting of Hindus in Kashmir, stating, “There are no limits to the rage and fury I feel.”

South Indian Cinema Unites in Grief

Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, NTR Jr., and Mohanlal also took to social media to share their condolences. Ram Charan wrote, “Shocked and saddened by the terror attack in Pahalgam. Such incidents have no place in our society.”
Allu Arjun added, “So heartbroken. Such a beautiful place with kind-hearted people. Condolences to all the families… Truly heartbreaking.”

Mohanlal offered a message of unity: “To the grieving families, your sorrow is beyond words. The entire nation stands with you in mourning. Let us hold on to each other a little tighter and never let go of hope.”

Kamal Haasan called for national unity and vowed that India would remain “committed to law, order, and national security.”

Public Figures Urge National Focus

Actor Sunny Deol stressed the need to eradicate terrorism globally: “At this time, the world should think only about ending terrorism. Its victims are always innocent people.”
Sanjay Dutt demanded action, urging India’s leadership to “retaliate” and not stay silent.

Meanwhile, Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim, who were vacationing in Kashmir just days before the attack, reassured fans of their safety via social media. “We left Kashmir this morning and reached Delhi safely,” Shoaib posted, responding to a flood of concerned messages from fans.

Leadership Responds

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and cut short his state visit to Saudi Arabia to return to India. In a statement on X, PM Modi declared, “Those behind this heinous act will not be spared… Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and will grow even stronger.” Upon arrival, he held an emergency meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the massacre as “much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years.”

A Nation in Mourning

The attack in Pahalgam, known for its tranquil meadows and scenic beauty, has once again highlighted the fragility of peace in the region. With widespread condemnation and a collective call for justice, celebrities and citizens alike are uniting in grief and determination.

As the country processes this heartbreaking tragedy, one message resounds across all platforms: these acts of terror will not shake India’s spirit. The fight for peace, security, and justice continues, with louder voices than ever.
