Mumbai Youth Congress Holds Banner Protest in Bandra and Borivali Against Action on NEET Protesters

Mumbai, August 5, 2026: The Mumbai Youth Congress staged banner protests in Bandra and Borivali (West) on Wednesday to condemn the alleged police action against students who had been protesting over the NEET paper leak issue.

The organisation alleged that students participating in peaceful demonstrations were subjected to a lathi-charge, pellet gun use, criminal cases, and mistreatment, including female protesters. Condemning the action, Youth Congress leaders demanded strict action against those responsible for the paper leak instead of action against students.

The protesters also called for Union Home Minister Amit Shah to resign, taking moral responsibility for the alleged action against students, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to publicly apologise to students across the country.

The protest was led by Mumbai Youth Congress President Zeenat Shabreen, with Mumbai North Central Youth Congress President Nikhil Ruparel and Mumbai North Youth Congress President Ajay Kumar Mishra leading demonstrations in their respective areas. Several Youth Congress office-bearers and workers, including Tejas Chandurkar, Amandeep Singh, Mitesh Sonkar, Mustakeem Shaikh, Vikas Jaiswar, Ashish Saroj, Vijay Nagarale, Arif Sayyed, and Deepak Vishwakarma, participated in the protest and raised slogans against the Central Government.
