Viacom 18 has attracted yet another stellar performer from the Disney Star team, with Alok Jain joining the television and digital powerhouse as President and Head of Colors Hindi and Regional. He will also oversee the rollout of regional digital content.
Alok is an astute and proven business head with strong orientation of business strategy and content quality plus strong connections, particularly in South India, where he helped Kevin Vaz build some of the strong pillars of regional television general entertainment channels in India.
Before moving on to Viacom18, Alok was with Disney Star for nearly seven years, from September 2021 to June 2023, leading the P&L responsibilities for TV channels and the Disney+ Hotstar business. He played a crucial role in managing the Telugu, Bengali, Oriya, and Kannada cluster of TV channels along with Disney+ Hotstar.
Prior to Disney-Star, Alok was EVP & Business Head (Telugu) for 5 years and 1 month and was responsible for the growth and dominance of the Star MAA TV network, achieving top positions in GEC, movies, and music genres. Jain served as Chief Operating Officer & Business Head at HIL Limited, where he rapidly scaled up a building products business to a ~100Cr annualized business in ~2.5 years.
Alok also played a significant role in strategy and business development at Bharat Forge Ltd., and was a Management Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.
