The Odyssey Sells 75,000+ Day 1 Tickets Before Release

Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film ‘The Odyssey’ is creating a buzz at the Indian box office even before hitting cinemas. With only a few days to go, the movie has seen a surge in advance bookings, thus building up excitement surrounding the film.

According to reports about box office figures, the movie has so far sold about 75,000 tickets for its opening day, proving the high expectations people have for Christopher Nolan’s film.

Advance bookings in premium formats have been a major contributor to the numbers, with IMAX playing a major role in the overall figures

The advance booking numbers are already proof that the film is on its way to an outstanding opening, accumulating an estimated gross of around INR 15 crore in India and pre-bookings for the opening day worth around INR 5.75 crore (approximately INR 4.75 crore). If we compare, then the numbers are quite similar to those of ‘Oppenheimer’ before its release.

A major portion of the audience’s interest has resulted from big screens like IMAX. The movie’s spectacular visual effects, the well-known reputation of Nolan in theatrical display, and the buzz about the story of the movie have led to advance bookings arriving on the scene.

Starring Matt Damon in the lead role, ‘The Odyssey’ features a fantastic ensemble cast involving Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson. The movie is based on the well-known epic written by Homer and is being publicized as a major movie event.

As the advance bookings are still progressing, everybody will be looking forward to whether ‘The Odyssey’ will be able to achieve one of the biggest openings in Bollywood and achieve the milestone left by the Nolan movies at the Indian box office.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ is set to release in theatres worldwide on July 17, 2026.
