Salman Khan revealed an astonishing truth about his time in jail while he appeared at the reality show, Alliance. During the interaction with participants inside the house, the superstar revealed about his experiences around trouble times in jail, including an unexpected reason that he sometimes wished he could stay in jail longer.

Talking about his jail days, Salman drew a picture of congested barracks and poor amenities available in his time. He said that almost 50-70 prisoners shared the same washroom which had an Indian toilet and even lizards around it. Though uncomfortable conditions gave him hard time, he eventually adjusted to the reality.

Eventually, he surprised everyone with an unexpected confession. Salman said that the disciplined life he led in prison has changed his physical fitness significantly. He made a joke stating that when the jail authorities informed him about the coming release, he had nothing more than an urge to stay at least for four or five days more as he reached the top shape owing to his stay in prison.

The Dabangg star said, “When I was in jail, I had to keep going to court for bail hearings. I knew my bail application would be rejected, so I used to think, ‘Why should I even step out? Why come back again?’ Then one day, it seemed like I was finally getting released. But when I was actually leaving, I genuinely felt bad. There, I used to work out every day. I survived on water and whatever dal was served, and I became so ripped that I even thought, ‘If only my stay had been extended by another four or five days.’ Someone there even told me, ‘Brother, don’t go.’ I laughed and said, ‘What do you mean, don’t go?’”

Talking about prison life, Salman said that the simplicity of the lifestyle which involved regular timing was very benefitting to his body. However, the whole experience was not easy to cope with.

Salman has been given the opportunity to appear in Alliance as he came to meet his brother Sohail Khan after entering the house. The episode had a lot of emotional family moments and was mostly about superstar’s honest reflections about his experience in prison and the former’s honesty and humour.
