IIFA Awards 2025: Laapataa Ladies Shines, Kartik Aaryan Wins Big

The Silver Jubilee edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 concluded with a star-studded ceremony in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on March 9. The two-day event, held on March 8 and 9, saw some of Bollywood’s biggest names in attendance, celebrating a year of cinematic excellence. Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies emerged as the biggest winner of the night, sweeping 10 awards, while Kill followed with four wins. Kartik Aaryan took home the Best Actor award for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, while Nitanshi Goel won Best Actress for her performance in Laapataa Ladies.

Laapataa Ladies Sweeps Major Awards

India’s official entry for the Oscars, Laapataa Ladies, took home Best Picture, Best Director (Kiran Rao), Best Actress (Nitanshi Goel), and Best Supporting Actor (Ravi Kishan), among other top honors. The film also won Best Music Director, Best Story (Original), Best Editing, Best Screenplay, and Best Lyrics, making it the undisputed champion of the night.

Kartik Aaryan Wins Best Actor, Kill Bags Multiple Awards

Kartik Aaryan continued his winning streak, taking home Best Actor for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, while Raghav Juyal won Best Performance in a Negative Role for Kill. Kill also won Best Cinematography and Best Sound Design, showcasing its technical brilliance.

Kareena Kapoor Khan paid tribute to her legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor, while Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Nora Fatehi, and Kartik Aaryan set the stage on fire. The show concluded with an electrifying performance by SRK, leaving the audience in awe.

Celebrating 25 Years of IIFA

As IIFA completed its 25th edition, Shah Rukh Khan presented a special award to the founders of IIFA in honor of their contributions to Indian cinema. With Laapataa Ladies and Kill dominating the night, IIFA 2025 truly celebrated excellence in Bollywood.
