Aamir Khan Productions released the official trailer for Ek Din today. The film, starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan, will hit theatres on May 1, 2026. The trailer primarily shows the story, which revolves around a fleeting romantic encounter between two colleagues on an international trip, emphasising feelings, fleeting moments, and the possibility of discovering love in just one day.
Rohan, played by Junaid, is shown in the trailer as shy/awkward, but full of love for his colleague Meera (Sai Pallavi). He quietly observes her beauty/warmth but does not dare to tell her how he feels. Rohan’s voiceover gives insight into his admiration for the simplest of things about Meera and how comfortable he feels when she is near. It clearly establishes the emotional feel of the film and the unaddressed feelings slowly building over time between both characters. There is a twist of fate that changes everything when Rohan expresses his desire to spend one day with Meera, and through some means that remain unknown, Rohan’s wish is granted.
There are many hints during the trailer that for one full day, the world will align perfectly for both Rohan and Meera to experience many instances that would ordinarily be outside the realm of possibility. It’s an intriguing premise that blends romance with a touch of fantasy, promising a narrative built around one transformative day.
The lead actors have received a lot of attention, as they are said to have very good chemistry together. Sai Pallavi always shines with her natural presence, and in the few shots shown in the trailer, she does an amazing job of portraying Meera with charm and subtlety. Junaid Khan (son of Aamir Khan) has an incredibly sincere and understated energy while playing his proactive character, which fits the introverted style of his character. Their interactions are sweet, awkward, and vulnerable; all of which are perfect for a story about an “understated” romantic relationship. It is worth noting that this is Sai Pallavi’s first Hindi film.
Additionally, there is a special connection behind-the-scenes as Aamir Khan and director Mansoor Khan will be working together again under Aamir Khan Productions. This has created a lot of excitement among Bollywood fans. For the uninitiated, the 2016 Thai love drama One Day served as official inspiration for Ek Din.
If the trailer is anything to go by, Ek Din isn’t trying to be a grand love saga. Rather, it appears to be focused more on celebrating small moments. With its storytelling and genuine performances, the film could end up being a refreshing addition to Bollywood’s romantic drama space when it releases on May 1, 2026.
