SHEIN, one of the world’s top fashion brands which shut shop in India in June 2020 after the post-Galwan ban on Chinese apps, is set to re-enter the Indian market through a partnership with Reliance Retail.
The partnership will see Reliance Retail set up offline stores as well as mark its presence online, possibly on the latter’s Ajio platform.
The company’s website states that their primary sourcing locations for Shein products include the US, India, Brazil, and Australia. With ongoing scrutiny over cotton sourcing in the US, Shein is expected to explore sourcing fabrics from small businesses in India, offering the company an opportunity to diversify its supply chain beyond China.
