All India Football Association (AIFF) recently announced that Bhubaneswar and Guwahati will host India’s opening two home matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2.
In the Asian qualifiers, India finds itself placed in Group A, sharing the group with Qatar, Kuwait, and the winners of the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 clash between Afghanistan and Mongolia.
The Secretary General of Indian Football Team congratulated the Football Associations of Odisha and Assam for securing the hosting rights for these matches and conveys their best wishes for the successful execution of these matches at a top-tier standard.
