Amazon India has expanded its e-commerce platform to include Marathi and Bengali languages. Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu were among the five Indian languages offered by the platform previously.
To shop in these languages, customers go to the app’s or website’s “Country & Language” settings and select the language. Once you’ve picked a language, the e-commerce platform will use that language for all future visits. The platform has announced that the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale will be held on its platform soon. During the event, buyers will receive a 10% immediate discount on HDFC Bank cards.
Every month, tens of millions of customers visit Amazon.in in regional languages, with 90% of them hailing from cities in Tier 2 and below. “Our goal with the regional language shopping experience is to make e-commerce accessible, relevant, and convenient for customers,” said Kishore Thota, Amazon India’s Director of Customer Experience and Marketing.
