Maya Tata, the youngest daughter of Noel Tata, is reportedly set to take charge of the e-commerce marketing division at Westside, the fashion and lifestyle brand owned by Trent.
While she belongs to the prominent Tata family, Maya Tata has largely remained out of the public spotlight. She is the youngest daughter of Noel Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts and Trent.
Born in Mumbai in 1989, she pursued her education at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, followed by further studies in business management and finance in London.
She began her career at Tata Capital and later moved to Tata Digital, where she worked on initiatives related to digital commerce, online retail, customer engagement, and growth strategies. Tata Digital’s portfolio includes BigBasket, Tata Neu, Croma and Tata 1mg, with Tata Sons having invested around ₹24,000 crore in the business.
Maya Tata’s reported appointment comes at a time when Westside is playing an increasingly important role in Trent’s growth story. The fashion and lifestyle retailer has emerged as one of the company’s strongest-performing businesses, with digital commerce and omnichannel retail becoming key strategic priorities.
According to reports, Westside contributes nearly 40% of Trent’s overall revenue. The retailer expanded its footprint by opening 53 new stores during FY2026 and plans to continue its rapid growth with approximately 50 new stores every year.
With Westside accelerating its online and offline expansion, Maya Tata’s reported role could place her at the forefront of shaping the brand’s digital marketing and e-commerce strategy.
