Johnson Controls Appoints Vivek Bhide as India President and MD

The industrial technology veteran, with over 36 years of experience, joins after nearly seven years at John Cockerill.

Johnson Controls has appointed Vivek Bhide, F.IOD, as President and Managing Director for India, according to Exchange4Media. He will lead the company’s business operations in the country, drawing on experience in industrial technology, engineering and business management.

The move follows nearly seven years at John Cockerill, where he was most recently Group Transformation Officer.

From John Cockerill

At John Cockerill, Bhide was Group Transformation Officer and Regional President for the group, and earlier Managing Director for its India operations. The roles gave him experience in running complex operations and driving transformation across markets.

Before that, he was President of Fortive India and Managing Director of Gilbarco Veeder-Root India, with responsibility for business leadership and growth in industrial technology and solutions.

DuPont and industrial materials

Bhide also has a long association with DuPont, where he held technical, manufacturing and commercial leadership roles. He was Business Director, DuPont India, and later Global Marketing Leader, DuPont Titanium Technologies, covering manufacturing technology, process engineering, business development and global marketing. He also worked at INVISTA as Director, New Business Development.

Across these assignments, he has built a career of more than 36 years that combines technical expertise with business leadership and transformation experience.

What Johnson Controls does

Johnson Controls works in building technologies, thermal management, energy efficiency and decarbonisation, with offerings for infrastructure and industrial settings where building performance, reliability and energy management matter. Bhide’s appointment places him at the head of the India business as energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure and advanced building technologies become more important to Indian businesses and institutions.
