The Indian Air Force (IAF) is renowned for its formidable fleet of fighter jets, with the Sukhoi Su-30 MKI being one of the crown jewels. However, even these mighty machines are not immune to the occasional mishap, as evidenced by the recent crash of an IAF Sukhoi in Maharashtra’s Nashik district.

Earlier today, an IAF Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter jet, part of the Sukhoi inventory undergoing overhaul and testing at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), crashed in a field near Shirasgaon village in Nashik, Maharashtra, with debris being spread over 500 meters radius. The aircraft was being flown by Wing Commander Bokil and his second-in-command, Biswas, when the incident occurred.

Remarkably, both pilots managed to eject safely from the aircraft, sustaining only minor injuries. They were promptly taken to the HAL hospital for medical attention, a testament to the robust safety protocols in place for IAF pilots.
