'Slapped 7-8 Times, Kicked on Chest and Pelvis': Swati Maliwal alleges assault by Kejriwal aide in FIR

The Delhi Police FIR against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, details allegations of assault made by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The FIR claims Maliwal was slapped 7-8 times, kicked on the chest, stomach, and pelvis area, and threatened with dire consequences.

According to the FIR, on May 13, Maliwal visited Kejriwal’s camp office at his Civil Lines residence and attempted to contact Kumar but was unsuccessful. As she waited for the CM in the drawing room, Kumar allegedly barged in, screamed at her, and abused her before physically assaulting her.

The complaint, recorded three days after the incident, states Maliwal entered the residential area through the main door, as she had done in the past, and informed the staff she was there to meet the CM. She was asked to wait in the drawing room, where a staff member informed her the CM was coming. It was then that Kumar allegedly attacked her without provocation.

Maliwal claimed that after dialing the police PCR number, Kumar threatened her and later returned with security personnel who asked her to leave. She then went to her old residence in Civil Lines with police personnel who had come to the CM’s house. Despite informing the SHO about the incident, she left the station without filing a written complaint due to pain.

In the FIR, Maliwal described the assault in detail, alleging Kumar pounced on her, dragged her, and deliberately pulled her shirt up, causing her to hit her head on a table. Despite informing him she was on her periods, the assault continued.

Kumar has been booked under IPC sections 354, 506, 509, and 323. On Thursday, police officials visited Maliwal’s residence to record her statement and later took her to AIIMS for a medical check-up. Kumar and AAP have not responded to requests for comment.
