‘Students shouldn’t be treated like this’: Diljit Dosanjh on Delhi protests 

Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has expressed his support for the protesting students in Delhi regarding the purported NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and has denounced the treatment meted out to the protestors in the latest crackdown. These statements come after violent clashes broke out on the way to parliament. 

On the topic, Diljit has stated that the protestors should not be treated like this and the government should hear what they are trying to say before they act out violently against them. He made it clear that the youth have a right to be heard. 

Taking to his Instagram stories, the singer shared a note in Punjabi, condemning the alleged attack on students. “What happened today was very wrong… Students should not have been treated like this… I request the authorities to listen to the students’ demands… The voice of the people is the voice of God,” he wrote. 

Diljit also said that speaking about the matter would invite criticism once more. He reminded everyone of the derision he faced for siding with the farmers and stated that he would once again be called “anti-national.” 

“I have already been tagged as an ‘anti-national’ many times… Even now, I will be called an anti-national. After the Farmers’ Protest… I faced a lot of backlash and legal problems that I can’t even discuss. Anyway, God is watching everything. May God bless everyone,” he added. 

His remarks have contributed to the voices of celebrities in relation to the recent happenings that developed after the protests turned into clashes with the police during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ demonstration in Delhi. Although the police reported that they had to use force because the protesters started acting violently, many activists argued that the authorities used excessive power against the people. 

Diljit Dosanjh’s opinion has quickly gained popularity among social media users, where he has received much approval for his saying. The actor is known to have made public statements regarding various social issues before, primarily speaking out when it comes to the farmers’ protests, so his latest statements can be seen as another reiteration of his outspoken character.
