Kangana Ranaut slams CJP protest: ‘You cannot arm-twist the government’

Actor-Politician Kangana Ranaut has expressed her thoughts regarding the ongoing CJP-led protest called ‘Chalo Sansad’. She stated that public protests should not be utilized as a way of pressuring governments into dismissing or keeping ministers. These statements came on the first day of the Parliament’s Monsoon Session when the atmosphere in Delhi has heated up.

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament, the BJP MP noted that governments are elected by the people and that therefore street protests should not have any effect on the way they work. According to Kangana, the Parliament is the right place to discuss governance and policy, not public protests aimed at forcing political decisions.

The actress said, “Creating a ruckus, causing disruptions, and protesting in this manner is not right. The people have elected a government, and it is their right to decide how they will run that government. If you feel so strongly, you should stand for election yourself. You cannot arm-twist the government into deciding who to sack and who to retain; this kind of arm-twisting is not acceptable. Gradually, everyone will seek refuge in the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Sanatan culture because this is our own culture, whereas everything else has been borrowed from the rest of the world.”

Kangana’s statements were aimed at the group of people participating in the ongoing CJP protests that received nationwide attention over the last days. Several activists, including Sonam Wangchuk and some public figures supported the protests, stating that the protesters demand for accountability over the matter related to the quality of education.

The march ‘Chalo Sansad’ is notable for the significant amount of security in place in Delhi and reports of clashes between police and protesters attempting to break through the barricade heading towards Parliament.
